| Baileys Corner Pub has been Bailey's since 1989, bought by a couple of ambitious Irish businessmen. Before that it was Nash's Cash box and prior to that it was Tiernan's. Going back even further it was Loftus' since the early 1950's when Jack Loftus purchased the bar from someone else. Local legend has it that the huge cabinet behind the bar was built before the turn of the century and installed in a bar that used to be on the NorthEast corner of 84th and York Avenue. Sometime before the Second World War it was dismantled and brought to its current home. However, it was for some reason painted completely black. Jack Loftus, when he purchased the establishment painstakingly restored the hand crafted woodwork to it's pristine natural condition. Bailey's recently underwent a massive facelift, inserting windows on the north wall in place of two murals and the brickwork has been restored as well. Stop by and see all the changes. |
